Straighten out Exchange database error 1112

MS Exchange Server is a server side application of client-server architecture. The Exchange Server is highly efficient in commutating emails, contacts, calendars, tasks and other business oriented documents. As far as storing is concerned, MS Exchange Server 2003 can handle data up-to 16GB. On reaching the prescribed limited user can encounter following event ID of an error type.

Event Id: 1112

Source:  MSExchangeIS

Reason:
The aforementioned error is encountered by the user because the database “Mailbox Store” has reached the maximum feasible size. Therefore the database is un-mounted on further action. The messaging database (MDB) also stops responding automatically.

The 16GB size of the MS Exchange public mailbox store and private mailbox database is collection of both Priv.edb and Priv.stm files. The Priv1.edb files are just like a rich text database that holds emails, headers and text attachments associated with respective message. Whereas the Priv1.stm files holds data related to streaming media like audio, video, image and other internet files that are MIME formatted. In office environment where major emphasis is on large document sharing via emails. Hence it is quite understandable that the size of Priv1.edb files kept on increasing on daily basis. Also it is common that many times user stop considering about file size limit. Due to which users faces an aforementioned error message.  Let me share a serious consequence of the abovementioned situation in which all my data was almost lost due to overloading of database. Because of which some of my data became inaccessible. It might get corrupted due to dismounting of Exchange Server database. I went through numerous articles for the recovery of my corrupted data files and came to know about a free utility known as Exmerge which is provided by Microsoft. I tried to recover my data using Exmerge but the result was not expected as it failed to perform the desired function. The tool shows the recovery is successful after the process but the data remained inaccessible.

In that case I went through a review written on an Exchange data recovery tool. Here I found an adroit tool known as Stellar Phoenix Exchange Server recovery tool. On using the free demo version of the tool over some of my data files I found positive results which bound me to purchase this gifted tool. The tool is almost compatible with all the major versions of Exchange Server. I strongly recommend to all Exchange users to have this tool for any adverse or serious situations.
